With a Porsche, the gap between a good car and a bad one can be tens of thousands of dollars. I give the car a careful, hands-on inspection and a thorough road test, and I tell you what to ask the seller before you commit.

What I pay close attention to on a Porsche
Paint and body history
I measure paint thickness on every panel. Repainted panels on a Porsche are worth knowing about before you agree on a price.
Oil and coolant leaks
I look for oil leaks around the engine and coolant leaks around the radiators and hoses, and check under the oil cap.
PDK and manual transmissions
On the road test I check shifting, clutch feel and engagement, and scan the transmission computer for stored codes.
Brakes and tires
I look at the rotors and calipers through the wheels, measure the tread on every tire, and check for uneven wear.
Engine history you can’t see
Some Porsche engine problems can’t be seen without taking the engine apart. I tell you which model years are known for them and what records to ask for.
Stored codes and electronics
I scan the car’s computers, including history codes, and test the infotainment, convertible top where fitted, and comfort features.

Gas, diesel, hybrid and electric are all welcome. The powertrain doesn’t change the price.
What every inspection includes
- 146-point hands-on inspection by an ASE-Certified Master Technician—the person you book is the person who shows up
- Computer scan of the engine, transmission, ABS, airbag and other systems, with every code explained
- Paint meter readings on every body panel to spot earlier bodywork
- Tread depth on every tire, plus brakes checked through the wheels
- A road test of at least five miles when it’s safe and the seller allows it
- 40+ photos, a plain-English report and a phone walkthrough with Antone
Nothing is taken apart. The inspection is a condition snapshot, not a warranty or a guarantee against future problems.
