Modern Used Car Inspection · $299
An independent inspection helps you understand a vehicle’s visible condition before committing to a purchase. Our Modern Used Car Inspection covers vehicles 20 years old and newer—model year 2006 and newer today.

We check accessible exterior, interior, engine-compartment and underbody components, record observations, and document findings with photos. The report includes tire brand, size, tread-depth measurements, and individual tire and wheel condition findings where accessible.
We test-drive the vehicle for at least five miles when it is safe to drive and the seller permits it. Before- and after-test-drive mileage and any limitations are recorded in the report. Share concerns or warning lights when you order so they can be considered during the inspection.
Electric and hybrid vehicles follow the same model-year pricing. Checks cover accessible systems, charging observations and supported diagnostics. This does not certify high-voltage battery capacity or battery health.
Enter the vehicle information, seller’s contact details and vehicle location, then your own contact information. Pay securely through Square. We coordinate access and confirm scheduling with the seller. When your report is ready, use your email to sign in and view the findings and images.
For a car at a Seattle dealer or private seller, see our Seattle pre-purchase car inspection service for local access and scheduling details. Buying from another state? Our remote inspection service for Washington purchases explains how to arrange the inspection without attending.
We offer mobile inspections across our Washington service area, from roughly an hour south of Olympia to Bellingham, about two hours east of I-5, and across the entire Olympic Peninsula. Travel and seller access affect scheduling. See our service area.
Inspections are visual and non-invasive. They provide a condition snapshot, not a warranty, valuation, emissions test or guarantee against future problems. For vehicles older than 20 years, choose the $399 Classic Car Inspection.
Our independent mobile service is based in the Olympia area. Your inspector records findings in plain English so you can discuss concerns with the seller before deciding to buy. Read our used car inspection guide for what to arrange before the appointment.

A useful report helps you decide what to ask, what needs attention and whether the car suits your plans. One customer described using their findings in a dealer conversation:
CUSTOMER TESTIMONIALS
“The car turned out to be in great shape, but the report gave me peace of mind and a few minor items to bring up with the dealer. They knocked $400 off the price, which more than paid for the inspection.”

A CLOSER LOOK · FEWER SURPRISES
Here’s how our inspection approach connects photos, measurements and plain-English observations to your purchase decision.
These walkthroughs use our demonstration reports and illustrative sample photos. They are not accounts of completed customer inspections. Photos show the area discussed; measurements and scan results are recorded separately in the report.

The recorded findingOur modern sample records 4/32 inch on the left front tire and uneven outer-shoulder wear.
What it means for youWe record each tire separately. Uneven wear deserves attention even when some tread remains; a photo and measurement help you understand the finding.
A useful question before buyingWhat would tire replacement and evaluation of the uneven wear cost?

The recorded findingThe modern sample records 12 mils on the right rear door versus 5 mils on the other measured panels, with a visible cosmetic scuff.
What it means for youThat difference suggests additional paint on this panel. We compare the readings with visible finish and body condition; the meter alone cannot establish accident history.
A useful question before buyingDoes the seller have records or photos of previous paintwork?

The recorded findingThe modern sample has no stored or pending engine/transmission fault codes at the time of its diagnostic scan.
What it means for youWe use a scan tool on compatible vehicles and record the results alongside physical checks and road-test observations. No codes does not mean every mechanical system is fault-free.
A useful question before buyingDo the service records and observed condition support the seller’s description?

CLEAR ANSWERS. BEFORE THE KEYS.
The findings put measurements and observations into context, so you can ask better questions before buying.
The inspection still checks accessible condition and uses supported diagnostic scans. A scan can show recorded information or fault codes, but a clear scan does not guarantee the car has no problems. We read it alongside the physical inspection and any road-test observations.
We compare paint thickness across compatible panels and inspect the visible finish and bodywork. A thicker reading may suggest additional paint or filler; it does not prove an accident. Some materials cannot be measured. The report explains the readings and records relevant observations.
The overview highlights the findings, photos show what was observed, and tire and paint sections explain the measurements. Antone’s included phone walkthrough lets you ask which items deserve attention before you decide.
