Seattle Vehicle Inspections · Version 2026-10-22

Your inspection order

These terms apply to vehicle inspections ordered from Seattle Vehicle Inspections. Review the selected package, price, vehicle and seller details before placing your order. You must be at least 18 and authorized to place the order. If ordering for a business, you must have authority to act for it.

What we inspect

We provide an independent, visual and non-invasive assessment of accessible vehicle components. Your report records findings, measurements, photographs and any videos from the inspection. The checklist and purchased package describe the checks. A road test depends on seller permission, vehicle condition and safe, lawful driving conditions. We identify checks that could not be completed and explain relevant limitations in the report.

Understanding the findings

A report describes the vehicle at the time of inspection. Hidden, intermittent or later-developing problems may not be identified. The inspection does not dismantle components and is not a warranty, insurance policy, appraisal, title or lien search, emissions certification or guarantee of future reliability. Electric and hybrid checks do not certify high-voltage battery capacity or remaining battery life. Classic inspections do not certify authenticity or matching numbers. We provide inspection findings, not repair or maintenance services. Review the findings and recommendations when deciding whether to buy.

Package selection and payment

Modern Used Car Inspection costs $299 for vehicles 20 years old or newer, including electric and hybrid vehicles. Classic Car Inspection costs $399 for older vehicles. The model-year cutoff advances each calendar year. The total shown at checkout applies to your order. Payment is collected through Square before we arrange the inspection; Square collects required card and billing information.

Seller information and permission

Provide accurate vehicle information, the vehicle location, seller contact details and your own contact details. For a dealer, include the dealership name. Confirm that the seller permits the inspection and can provide safe access to the vehicle and keys. Let us know promptly if the vehicle sells, its location changes or access becomes unavailable. We may need to reschedule if access or conditions prevent a safe inspection.

Scheduling

We aim to complete inspections by the end of the next business day after an order is placed. Timing depends on inspector availability, seller access and safe conditions. We confirm the inspection date separately and notify you of changes. Payment alone does not guarantee a particular date or appointment time.

Cancellations and refunds

If you cancel before our inspector has departed for your inspection, you will receive a full refund of your inspection payment. Once our inspector has departed and is traveling to your inspection, Seattle Vehicle Inspections reserves the right to issue a partial refund rather than a full refund. The amount will be determined based on travel and inspection work already performed. To request a cancellation, call 206-843-7600 as soon as possible. Approved refunds are returned through Square to the original payment method; processing time depends on Square and your bank. This policy does not limit any refund or remedy required by law.

Your account and report

Use your email sign-in link or backup code to access your account. Keep sign-in links and codes private and keep your contact details current. You can see order updates in your account, and we send operational emails for payment, scheduling, report upload and publication. We email you when your report is published. You may save or print your report for your vehicle purchase decision. A full refund removes report access unless we expressly allow continued access. Partial refunds do not remove report access.

Questions and corrections

Call 206-843-7600 if you have questions about your order or believe a report contains an error. Give us the order number and details so we can investigate and respond. These terms do not waive rights or remedies that applicable law does not allow you to waive.

Privacy and terms updates

Our Privacy & Cookies page explains how account, inspection and payment information is used. We keep the terms version and acceptance time with each new order. The version accepted when you place an order applies to that order; later changes do not retroactively change it.
