I recently checked out a 2019 Ford Fusion SEL Hybrid in Lacey. On the five-mile road test, braking and transmission operation were normal. The tires were in good condition, with 11/32 inch of tread on all four.

The body inspection turned up previous paintwork around the car, plus scratches and chips. I found no obvious major accident damage. Paint readings help tell the story, but a number on a meter alone doesn’t prove a collision.

The computer scan recorded six history codes. None was active during the inspection. The combination of communication codes and a low-voltage code was consistent with a past low-voltage event. The scan alone didn’t call for replacing parts. If a code returns, that system needs diagnosis.

I documented the inspection with 90 photos and explained what the findings meant. That gives the buyer something useful to work with when deciding whether the car is right for them.
